The dive

The Spiegel Grove was a Navy landing ship, sunk in 2002 to become an artificial reef. We tie into a permanent mooring buoy and descend the line to the starboard rail at 60 feet.

Currents here can be strong, so we brief every dive on the boat, plan turn pressures together and stay outside the hull. Nitrox makes the bottom time worth it.
