Release & legal
Release summary.
Last updated October 1, 2026
Every diver and snorkeler signs a liability release and a diver medical questionnaire before the first dive. This page summarizes what they say so there are no surprises. The signed documents are the ones that apply.
The captain has the last word
Every boat runs with a US Coast Guard licensed captain and a certified dive professional in the water. The captain can change the site, cut a dive short or cancel for safety at any time.
What the release covers
You dive within your training and the limits your guide sets for the site
You answer the medical questionnaire honestly and bring a doctor’s note if it asks for one
You follow the dive briefing, your buddy plan and crew instructions
You accept the normal risks of diving and snorkeling, such as currents, marine life and pressure injuries
Minors
Divers and snorkelers under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the release. Junior divers aged 10 to 14 dive with a parent or an instructor, and age guidance for each trip is listed on its page.
Accessibility
Groove Runner, our 46-foot boat, has a wide dive platform and a ladder lift. Call us before booking and we will plan your entry and exit with you.
